Respiratory Therapist – Join Our Team at Leon Medical Centers!

Leon Medical Centers is looking for a licensed and skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide exceptional care to our patients across Miami-Dade County. In this role, you will help restore pulmonary function, alleviate discomfort, and support life through medically prescribed respiratory therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pulmonary function tests; assess and interpret evaluations and test results.
  • Develop respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
  • Administer inhalants, operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas systems, and aerosol generators.
  • Perform bronchopulmonary drainage, assist with breathing exercises, and monitor physiological responses (vital signs, arterial blood gases, blood chemistry).
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness and recommend adjustments.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home exercise programs and equipment use.
  • Document patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
  • Rotate on-call as needed and participate in training, meetings, and special projects.
  • Comply with Leon Medical Centers’ policies and maintain confidentiality.

Location:
This position requires travel to all 8 Leon Medical Centers in Miami-Dade County: Bird Road, East Hialeah, Flagler, Homestead, Kendall, Miami, West Hialeah, and Westchester.

Requirements 

  • License: Active Florida Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Language: Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control, health promotion, and safe care practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
