Phlebotomist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and processing blood and other specimens for laboratory testing, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires precision, compassion, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect non-blood specimens such as urine and stool samples for laboratory analysis.
- Perform blood collection procedures with care and accuracy.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests including urinalysis and occult blood testing.
- Ensure all specimen collection requirements are met and maintain specimen integrity throughout the process.
- Label, document, and transport specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ensure comfort.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to support timely and accurate testing.
Requirements
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- 2-3 years of experience in a clinical or laboratory setting
- Valid Phlebotomy certificate
- Valid Medical Assistant Certificate
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
