SUMMARY

Assists with the preventive maintenance of Leon Medical Centers’ fleet.  Performs unskilled maintenance work and assists mechanic in performing manual work such as oil changes, brakes maintenance, etc.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs manual tasks such as assisting mechanic in carrying machine parts and tools and materials to and from the job, lifts and hold parts, cleans up work areas, etc.
  2. Cleans and washes equipment and machinery. Scrapes paint, grease, and accumulated material from equipment.
  3. Performs routine oiling and greasing of mechanic shop equipment.
  4. Identifies and reports all incidents that occur in the work area.
  5. Ensures a safe working environment for self and others.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate must be physically able to lift, carry, pull, push heavy weights according to all predetermined safety standards.
  • Must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The Mechanic Assistant must be able to work well in a team environment.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

A minimum of one (1) year of experience in minor and/or major automotive mechanic repairs, and experience in general body work is preferred.

 

EDUCATION

High school diploma or Vocational Training in Automotive Mechanics.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

ASE Certifications (or similar) preferred

Valid Florida Driver License
