Lobby Representative
Greets and assists patients coming to the medical center by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets and welcomes patients and visitors that come to the center.
- Escorts patients to all locations within the center including the doctors' offices, restrooms, etc.
- Assists patients with special needs (wheelchair, walkers, etc.).
- Notifies administration when a patient or visitor is not satisfied with their service or care.
- Interacts with patients while they wait for their appointments or other events.
- Maintains awareness of all patients and their needs while they are waiting.
- Communicates with the front desk in regards to patient status.
- Answers all inquiries in a professional and courteous manner, or directs the patient to the appropriate LMC staff member for assistance.
- Offers patients and visitors an affectionate and warm good-bye.
- Provides excellent service to our patients and visitors that meets, and whenever possible, exceeds their expectations.
- May be assigned to cover contracted external diagnostic facilities with little or no supervision.
- May travel on LMC buses to assist drivers in taking home high risk or special needs patients.
- May have to assist patients inside the bathroom occasionally; or contact the appropriate medical professional to offer assistance.
- Shows genuine concern to the patient's needs and problems; maintains open channels of communication for feedback, compliments, and complaints.
- Provides a level of comfort to the patient in showing them that they are dealing with a well-trained professional.
- Deals with irate patients in a manner that shows empathy and concern.
- Wears a complete uniform and keeps a clean and neat appearance during working hours.
- Participates in weekly line-ups.
- Participates in training and in-service education as required.
- Participates in department and center meetings as requested.
- Follows established lines of communication, and demonstrates courtesy and politeness to patients, visitors and other employees.
- Complies with LMC's infection control policies and procedures including body substance isolation and the Exposure Control Plan, which reflects OHSA Bloodborne Pathogen standard to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
- Complies with Leon Medical Centers' policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
