IT Procurement Specialist
Information Technology

A procurement specialist works within the IT Department. The main duties include contacting suppliers, negotiating purchasing agreements and making sure their materials and products meet the company's specifications. Technical background is requires to help select the best products needed to acquire the correct hardware and software. IT Procurement Specialist is also part of the Service Desk and assists with taking Level 1 Support calls from end users.



  1. Process requests to order new or replace hardware and software.
  2. Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price and deadlines, expectations, etc.
  3. Communicate with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of products,
  4. Creat purchase orders using our cloud-based system.
  5. Analyze invoice to ensure accuracy of good delivered.
  6. Work closely with project teams and supervisors to understand procurement requirements.
  7. Work alongside with the service desk to field support calls and identify and diagnose issues and problems,
  8. Escalate, if needed, unresolved problems to higher level of support.
  9. Wears a complete uniform and keeps a clean and neat appearance during working hours.
  10. Demonstrates courtesy and politeness to patients, visitors and other employees.
  11. Maintains open channels of communication with center administration and other company departments; Answers all inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  12. Participates in training and in-service education as required.
  13. Participates in department, clinic and other meetings as requested.
  14. Complies with Leon Medical Centers' policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality in accordance with state and federal laws.
  15. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.




  • 5+ years IT Procurement experience
  • CSCP, CIPS or CPSM Certification is a plus but not required
  • Level one Tech Support experience
  • Excellent verbal plus written communication skills-active listening
  • Proactive, driven, able to identify and take the lead on initiatives
  • Exceptional relationship management skills and ability to interact at all levels of management in a large enterprise
  • Sourcing and Procurement in all IT Categories, including Products, Cloud, and services
  • ITIL Foundation is a plus but not required


    Bachelors Degree in Buisness Administration or equivalent Procurement accreditation



    Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required.
