SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Center Medical Director provides performs duties in accordance with those prescribed by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), Florida Statutes and Leon Medical Centers policies and procedures. Provides urgent care services in a high-intensity environment:

• Diagnoses and treats acute illnesses
• Orders and interprets diagnostic testing including labs, Xray imaging, EKG
• Performs procedures such as suture repair, splinting, I+D, wound care

NOTE: The incumbent in this position will cover the 11:00AM to 8:00PM shift.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be patient in dealing with an elderly population and sensitive to hearing or vision deficiencies.  Individual must have excellent oral and written skill.  Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.  Ability to interpret complex medical data. Proven physician leadership skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to manage multiple priorities, colleagues, and initiatives or projects simultaneously.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Fluent in English and Spanish.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. 

Requires a medical degree and possession of a full and unencumbered physician license that must be maintained throughout employment in accordance with Florida Statutes § 458, 459, 460, and 461.

 

Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in the Physician’s area of specialization
