SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with a licensed Occupational Therapist to treat patients with therapeutic and self-care activities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Implements plan of care developed by Occupational Therapist.
  2. Monitors a patient's progress to make sure that they're successfully completing treatment.
  3. Encourages the patient during their recovery process.
  4. Helps patients to improve their quality of life by finding solutions to their problems.
  5. Helps injured patients improve their motor skills with the goal of re-entering the workforce and improving activities of daily living.
  6. Teaches patients with disabilities to become more independent and functional.
  7. Updates patient records for the Occupational Therapist.
  8. Keeps the office, treatment room and equipment in good order.
  9. Teaches patients, family members or other Caregivers skills and techniques to help with the patients' treatment program.
  10. Teaches patients how to use special equipment.
  11. Records patients’ progress, report to occupational therapists, and do other administrative tasks.
  12. Demonstrates courtesy and politeness to patients, visitors and other employees.
  13. Maintains open channels of communication with center administration and other company departments.
  14. Answers all inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferably in a clinical setting.

 

EDUCATION

Associate’s degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.

Occupational therapy assistants must pass the NBCOT exam to use the title “Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant” (COTA).

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bilingual English/Spanish fluency required.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Florida License as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Agents Modalities preferred.
